Khaberni - The director of the Zarqa Free Zone Customs Center, Customs Colonel Rkad Al-Essa, said that the Zarqa Free Zone is witnessing a significant increase in local vehicle clearance operations, with working hours extended and Fridays opened to facilitate the completion of all transactions.
Al-Essa told "Al-Mamlaka" that 43,000 vehicles have been cleared since the Cabinet's decision to stop clearing non-compliant vehicles.
He mentioned that the average daily transactions are 1,250 customs declarations.
He explained that there are 18,000 vehicles that need to be cleared within the Free Zone before November 1 of this year, confirming that 500 customs declarations were opened for vehicle clearance, and they were completed by noon Friday.
The Director-General of Jordan Customs, Customs General Ahmad Al-Akalik, previously stated that there is no extension to the decision to stop clearing non-compliant vehicles.
Jordan Customs, has confirmed its compliance with the Cabinet's decision which included stopping the clearance of non-compliant vehicles effective from November 1, 2025.
They called on citizens, traders, and investors to "take advantage of the opportunity to clear the vehicles covered by the government's decision before November begins, and to finalize their transactions and benefit from the decision."
Al-Akalik said that the customs staff work around the clock to complete transactions for citizens, traders, and investors.
After October 1, there will be three restrictions, according to Al-Akalik, "Clearance or approval will not be granted on salvage vehicles," there will be no clearance allowed on electric vehicles over 3 years old including the year of clearance, "European, American, and Saudi standards will be applied to all types of vehicles (hybrid, gasoline, electric).
He pointed out that working hours are open to complete the last transaction, as new inspection yards have been opened, and customs staff have been bolstered to complete transactions, where the Free Zone is experiencing an unprecedented movement of vehicle clearance.
