Who is the late artist Mohamed Razine

Khaberni - The actor Mohammed Al Razine passed away last Thursday at the age of 79, after a battle with illness. He is considered one of the Moroccan actors who made a distinguished mark on the artistic scene, participating in a number of theatrical, television, and film works. His talent shone through in playing various roles, both simple and complex.

Mohamed Al Razine was born in 1946 into a humble but culturally and educationally rich family. This influenced his career path since his affiliation with the National Institute of Music, Dance, and Dramatic Arts in Rabat and his subsequent engagement with "The National Theatre" and "The Small Mask" troupes.

He presented a number of artistic works including "Pain of the Earth", "Flock of Doves", and "From House to House". He also excelled in impactful comedic works like "Dar Al Waratha" and "Al Rabeeb". Although he never played a lead role, it was enough for him to appear on the silver screen in memorable roles in films such as "Thirst", "Promises of the Wind", and "Al Qunfoodi".
He was mourned by numerous artists and directors on social media, including Rachid El Ouali, who described him as "not just a passing artist, but a pillar of Moroccan theatre", noting that he was in constant contact with his son Marwan to check on his health. Director Hakim Qabbabi also expressed his pride in working with him on his last film "A Long Day", describing the late artist as "a venerable, fatherly man with a dignity befitting a true artist".
