Khaberni - The United Nations Security Council convened on Thursday, discussing the Palestinian issue and the members heard a briefing from the Deputy Special Envoy for the Peace Process, Ramez Akbarov.
The session included speeches by, in addition to the Security Council members, dozens of accredited ambassadors at the United Nations, including Jordan.
Akbarov emphasized that the United Nations will continue to support all efforts to end the occupation and resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions, and to achieve a two-state solution.
Akbarov said that the phase is critical and fraught with risks, and therefore the scope and magnitude of the upcoming challenges require full support from this council and the international community, explaining that "political will, financial resources, and a genuine commitment to creating a better future for all are necessary."
