Will Mohamed Salah Leave Liverpool Clarifies Its Position Amid Performance Decline

Khaberni - Reports have revealed the stance of English club Liverpool on selling its Egyptian star Mohamed Salah during the upcoming winter transfer window, amidst his declining performance this season.
At 33 years old, Salah has been struggling since the beginning of the current season, having scored only 3 goals, including one penalty, and assisted 3 others in 11 matches across all competitions, with the team losing the last 4 matches without any scoring contributions from him.

The British site "Football Insider" reported that it contacted Liverpool officials to inquire about the possibility of selling Salah in the winter transfer window at the beginning of 2026.

This comes after calls from some for the departure of the Egyptian international, who is experiencing one of his worst seasons since moving to Anfield this season.

However, Liverpool sources have confirmed that there is no intention to part with Mohamed Salah, neither in the upcoming winter nor even in the summer of 2026, despite his recently declining performance.

Salah signed a new contract with Liverpool last April to stay at the club until the summer of 2027, which blocks any idea of financially benefiting from selling him currently or in the future.

Despite enticing offers from Saudi league clubs such as AlHilal and Al-Ittihad, Salah chose to continue in the English Premier League, achieving last season the league's top scorer title with 29 goals for the fourth time in his career, a rare achievement that only French player Thierry Henry accomplished with Arsenal.

Mohamed Salah will miss Liverpool's matches between December and January due to his participation with the Egyptian national team in the African Nations Cup in Morocco, which may include about 7 league matches, in addition to Champions League encounters if the national team reaches the finals of the tournament.

It is noted that Salah's participation in African tournaments previously affected his performance with the English team, especially in the 2021-2022 and 2023-2024 seasons.
