Khaberni - The Turkish Parliament ratified the extension of military forces deployment abroad for an additional three years starting from October 30th of the current year, during a session on Tuesday to discuss a presidential memorandum regarding this matter.

According to the Turkish Anadolu Agency, this move aims to "eliminate potential attacks against the country by terrorist organizations in Iraq and Syria."

The presidential memorandum, bearing the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, mentioned that "the ongoing terrorist threat in the regions adjacent to Turkey's southern land borders and the lack of permanent stability still pose dangers and threats to national security."

At the same time, the memorandum emphasized "Turkey's commitment to preserving the territorial integrity, national unity, and stability of Iraq."

The memorandum also stated that "in line with the aspirations and needs of the current Syrian administration and the need to develop the country's counter-terrorism capabilities and support international and national efforts, it was emphasized that necessary measures must be taken against all risks and threats and actions that may endanger Turkish national security, with an emphasis on the importance of enhancing efforts to establish stability in Syria."
