Khaberni - "Axios" reported on Monday from well-informed sources that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Keen, issued stern warnings to President Donald Trump and senior officials about the grave risks of any military campaign against Iran.
Keen explained that involvement in a conflict with Tehran could turn into a "long-term war" whose costs and human losses would surpass any previous operations.
Between Venezuela and Iran.. Why is General Keen apprehensive? Sources described General Keen as a "reluctant warrior" in regards to the Iranian file; although he previously was enthusiastic about the military operation in Venezuela, he sees Iran as representing a completely different risk assessment.
Keen believes that the risks of involvement and American casualties in a major operation there would be immense, necessitating the utmost caution before making any decisive decision.
Division between Trump's hawks.. No final decision yet This warning comes amid a heated debate within the corridors of the administration; where Trump’s close associates are divided between a current urging caution and another pushing towards "the military option" to resolve the nuclear dossier.
Despite bolstering military presence in the region, sources confirm that no final decision has been made regarding military action so far, with the door still ajar for ongoing nuclear negotiations.
