Khaberni - Barcelona delivered a strong performance against Greek side Olympiacos in the Champions League, securing a sweeping victory.
Olympiacos was a guest at Barcelona in the third round of the group stage of the Champions League, on Tuesday evening.
Barcelona defeated Olympiacos with a score of 6-1 in the match held at "Luis Companys Olympic" stadium.
The goals for Barça were scored by Fermín López (three goals "hat-trick"), Marcus Rashford (two goals), and Lamine Yamal from a penalty in the 7th, 38th, 68th, 74th, 76th, and 79th minutes, while Ayoub El Kaabi scored the only goal for Olympiacos in the 53rd minute from a penalty.
The goal fest for Barça came after exploiting the numerical disadvantage in the Olympiacos team following the second yellow card to Santiago Hez in the 57th minute of the match.
With this, Barça achieved its largest victory in the Champions League since March 2017 (6-1 against Paris Saint-Germain).
Spanish midfielder Fermín López scored his first "hat-trick" for Barcelona, in his 95th match for the Catalan team across all competitions, and he was awarded the man of the match.
The 22-year-old became the first Spanish player to score a hat-trick for Barcelona in the Champions League, and the eighth Spaniard in general in the history of the continental tournament.
With the victory over Olympiacos, Barcelona temporarily topped the group stage rankings, lifting their points to 6, tied with other teams, pending the outcomes of the remaining matches.
In contrast, the Greek team suffered its second defeat, freezing its points at just one in the 32nd position on the leaderboard.
It should be noted that Barcelona began its Champions League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Newcastle United, before losing to Paris Saint-Germain 1-2.
Barcelona is currently preparing for the upcoming Sunday’s match against its traditional rival Real Madrid in the Clásico at the "Santiago Bernabeu" for the tenth round of the Spanish league.
