Khaberni - As part of its ongoing partnership with the Royal Scientific Society for the past 18 years, Zain Jordan has renewed its support for the National Project for Remote Water Quality Monitoring for an additional two years, which has been implemented on behalf of the Higher Council for Science and Technology since 2003.

This renewal stems from Zain Jordan's commitment to preserving water in the Kingdom to ensure its sustainability for future generations through the use and employment of technology to support the efficient and responsible management of this valuable resource. This reaffirms the company's strong commitment and its role in water conservation, considering it a scarce resource in the Kingdom, and aligns with the seventh goal "Clean Water and Sanitation" and the seventeenth goal "Partnerships for the Goals" of the Sustainable Development Goals implemented by the company in all its initiatives and sustainability management programs.

Zain Jordan will continue to provide data transmission services and the “Real Static IP” service for 13 field monitoring stations distributed across major surface water sources in Jordan including the Yarmouk River, Jordan River, King Abdullah Canal, and Zarqa Stream, as well as the inlet and outlet of King Talal Dam and the outlet of Kafrein Dam. These services enable real-time water quality monitoring through automatic systems that continuously collect water samples and perform physical and chemical analyses on them, sending the results instantly to a central database used to support the decisions of relevant authorities and monitor the quality of water resources with high accuracy and efficiency.

It is worth mentioning that since 2010, this project has been internationally accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS) according to the ISO 17025 international laboratory accreditation specification, and it is the first global accreditation of its kind for such projects. The National Project for Remote Water Quality Monitoring is one of the vital initiatives that support the efforts of the ministries of Environment, Health, Water and Irrigation, and Agriculture, as well as Miyahuna Company, under the guidance of the steering committee chaired by the Ministry of Environment.
