More than half a million Indian workers in Kuwait

Khaberni - The latest data from the Kuwaiti job market revealed that employment in the government and private sectors increased by about 4.1% over the year, with the total number of workers reaching 2,229,434 in June 2025, which is an increase of 88,414 compared to their number in June 2024.

Details of the employment data in the Kuwaiti job market, reported today (Monday) by the Central Statistical Bureau, indicated that the number of Kuwaiti employees decreased by 0.6% from last year, with the total number of Kuwaitis in the job market in June 2025 reaching 448,919, while the number of non-Kuwaiti workers increased by 5.4%, totaling 1,780,515.

The figures show that the participation rate of Kuwaiti workers in the Kuwaiti job market was 20.1%, while the participation rate of non-Kuwaiti workers was 79.9%.

According to the data, the Indian nationality ranked first in terms of their number of workers, reaching 578,244 in June 2025, followed by the Egyptians in the second position with a total of 469,371 workers, while Kuwaitis ranked third.
