AlShobaki expects a reduction in gasoline prices in Jordans November pricing

Khaberni - The economic researcher specializing in energy affairs, Amer Al-Shobaki, expects the government to reduce the prices of 90 and 95 gasoline by 1.5 piasters per liter, with fixing the prices of diesel and kerosene in the pricing for the coming November.

Al-Shobaki said that the average monthly global price of crude oil has dropped from 67 to 63 dollars per barrel, a decrease of about 6%. However, the prices of refined oil products have maintained relative stability due to the maintenance season in global refineries and the scarcity of refining capacities.

He added that despite the decrease in geopolitical concerns in the Middle East, the markets have started dealing with a relative abundance of supply amidst economic uncertainty and the escalating trade war between China and the United States, in addition to the commitment of OPEC+ alliance in its plan to gradually increase production.

Al-Shobaki pointed out that the price of a barrel of oil has decreased by about 20% since the beginning of 2025, while these declines have not been significantly reflected in local prices, due to the current government policies, especially the fixed lump-sum tax imposed since 2019.

The Jordanian government decided in the current October pricing to raise the prices of both types of gasoline by 5 fils per liter and raise the price of diesel by one piaster, while fixing the price of kerosene, resulting in the following current prices:
    •    Gasoline 90: 85.5 piasters/liter
    •    Gasoline 95: 108 piasters/liter
    •    Diesel: 68.5 piasters/liter
    •    Kerosene: 62 piasters/liter
