Vatican Popes Bike Sold at Public Auction

Khaberni - Pope Leo XIV's bike was sold at an auction in Munich for 156,000 euros, according to what was stated by the RM Sotheby's auction house on its website.

The house clarified that the pope received a "BMW R 18 Transcontinental" model 2024 from the Christian group "Jesus Bikers" of Germany for bikers. It was custom-made by Motorrad Witzel and painted white, inspired by the "Pope's armored car".

The website mentioned that Leo XIV received the bike as a gift on September 3rd of this year, after it was transported by "Jesus Bikers" members from Germany over three days. The pope signed the bike's fuel tank.

The auction house added, "The proceeds will be donated to the Missio Austria charity presided over by the pope, which plans to provide help to the children of Madagascar."

Last May, it was announced that the open truck used by Pope Francis was converted into a mobile medical clinic to be sent to the Gaza Strip. The Catholic charity "Caritas" in Sweden undertook the task of rehabilitating the "Pope's car". The truck is scheduled to be equipped with diagnostic and examination equipment, a first aid kit, and a refrigerator for storing medicines.

It is noted that the pope had ridden in a Jeep before being appointed.
