Decline in Individual Ownership Rates of Trucks in Jordan

Khaberni - The rate of trucks owned by individuals at the end of the third quarter of this year decreased to 79% compared to 85.5% in the same period last year, according to the land transport performance indicators recently issued by the Land Transport Regulatory Authority.
The indicators clarified that the percentage of trucks owned by companies now constitutes 21.2% of the total owned companies compared to 16.5%, according to Al-Ghad.
The average age of the freight fleet decreased from 19 years at the end of the third quarter of last year to 16.6 years for the same quarter last year.
The satisfaction rate with public transport services for passengers has stabilized at 68%.
The total number of working trucks, which obtained a document, reached 19,852 trucks, 15,649 of which are owned by individuals with a rate of 78.8%, and 4,203 trucks owned by companies with a rate of 21.2%.
The number of tractor heads was 18,852, while it was 29,255 during the third quarter of last year, with a decrease rate of 35.56%, and the number of trailers was 24,286 trailers, while it was 23,340 trailers with an increase rate of 4.05%.
The average age of the freight fleet decreased from 19 years at the end of the third quarter of last year to 16.6 years for the same quarter of this year.
The number of companies operating specialized transport on roads increased from 333 at the end of the third quarter of last year to 350 companies for the same quarter of this year, including 156 companies for general goods transport, 120 companies for container transport, 28 for crude oil and its derivatives transport by tankers, 11 for car transport, 12 for refrigerated materials transport, 9 for heavy load transport, 7 for sheep and livestock transport, 3 for vegetable oil transport, and 4 for ready mixed concrete transport.
The satisfaction rate with public transport services was 68%.
The number of buses per 1,000 people during the third quarter of this year was 0.54, while no statistics are available for the same period last year.
The capital expenditure of the authority since the beginning of this year until the end of September amounted to 9,169,432 million dinars.
The average operational age of large buses was 13.5 years while the average operational age of medium buses reached 14.3 years.
In the classification of small vehicles licensed by the authority to operate on transport services according to the type of fuel, there are 16,424 gasoline vehicles, of which 16,086 operate on all patterns except those working on smart applications and 338 vehicles operating on smart applications.
As for hybrid vehicles, their total number was 13,737 vehicles, of which 3,210 operate on all patterns except for smart applications and 10,527 vehicles operate on smart applications.
As for electric vehicles, their total was 1,101 vehicles, of which 355 operate on all patterns except for applications and 746 operating on smart applications.
