Popes Motorcycle Sold at Public Auction

Khaberni - Pope Leo XIV's motorcycle was sold at an auction in Munich for 156,000 euros, according to RM Sotheby's auction house on its website.

The auction house noted that the Pope received a "BMW R 18 Transcontinental" model 2024 motorcycle from the Christian group "Jesus Bikers" in Germany for bikers. It was custom-made by the Motorrad Witzel company and painted white, inspired by the "Pope’s armored car".

The website mentioned that Leo XIV received the motorcycle as a gift on September 3 of this year, after members of "Jesus Bikers" transported it from Germany over three days. The Pope signed the motorcycle's fuel tank.

The auction house added: "The proceeds will be donated to the charity Missio Austria, chaired by the Pope, which plans to provide aid to children in Madagascar".

In the past May, it was announced that the open truck used by Pope Francis would be converted into a mobile medical clinic to be sent to Gaza Strip. The Swedish branch of the Catholic charity "Caritas" took on the task of refurbishing the "Pope’s car". The truck is scheduled to be equipped with diagnostic and testing equipment, a first aid kit, and a refrigerator for storing medicines.

It is noted that the Pope had previously ridden in a Jeep before his appointment.
