Error Deprives Nasser AlAttiyah of World Rally Championship Title
خطأ يحرم ناصر العطية من لقب بطولة العالم للراليات

Khaberni - A mistake after crossing the finish line caused Nasser Al-Attiyah to lose his fourth consecutive title in the World Rally Championship, as the penalty he received after the final stage of the Morocco rally resulted in the trophy being awarded to Brazilian Lucas Moraes.

Al-Attiyah passed the final stop sign in his "Dacia Sandero Stepway", which prompted the officials to impose a time penalty of one hour on him, leading to his drop from the top of the overall standings for the World Championship that started with the Dakar Rally in January.

The Qatari driver appealed against the decision, and media reports quoted him saying that he and his navigator were unable to see the final stop sign due to dust, but their appeal was rejected, confirming Moraes's win for "Toyota Gazoo Racing" in the title.
