Khaberni - The rumor of the death of the Syrian artist Samia Al-Jazaery, which circulated during the past hours, has caused a state of anxiety among the Arab audience, after it was widely shared across social media platforms, prompting followers to search for its source amid the absence of any official confirmation in the early hours.
The family of the artist Samia Al-Jazaery announced in media statements that circulated that what was shared about her death is completely untrue, affirming that the artist is well and in good health.
The family emphasized that these news reports are baseless and called on the public to be careful and not contribute to the spread of rumors that cause panic without justification.
For her part, Taraf Al-Taqi, the niece of Samia Al-Jazaery, stated that her aunt is living a calm and normal life away from the spotlight currently, noting that the family was surprised by the spread of the rumor, which led her mother, the artist Sabah Al-Jazaery, to directly contact her sister to check on her, pointing out that this kind of news recurs from time to time and causes significant psychological distress to the family.
Taraf Al-Taqi also expressed the family's dismay at the recurrence of such rumors that target her aunt frequently, pointing out that the spread of inaccurate news causes moral harm to the artist and her relatives alike.
She added that the family hopes the public and media outlets will rely on trustworthy sources before publishing any news related to the health of artists.
Samia Al-Jazaery was born in Damascus on November 25, 1946, and is considered one of the pillars of Syrian drama and comedy icons in the Arab world.
The artistic journey of Samia Al-Jazaery began by chance in 1963 when she was spotted by the director Qasmat Tozani, who suggested she act, beginning with a small role in the play "Abo al-Banat," and since then, she has moved between television, theater, and cinema, establishing her presence in all these artistic fields.
Samia Al-Jazaery featured in black and white works like "Sahh El Nom" and "Hammam El Hana," and later in '90s series like "Yomiat Jameel and Hana" as "Um Mahmoud" and "Aileh 5 Najoom," becoming a familiar face in Syrian comedic and social productions.
She also excelled in cinema through the film "Kafron" and on stage in "Ghorba" alongside Duraid Lahham, earning her the title "Lady of Syrian Comedy," and her most recent work was in Ramadan 2025 through her participation in the series "Taht Sab' Ardh" with the artist Tim Hassan.
