Khaberni - American media announced the death of Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton at the age of 79, on Saturday, October 11 (October) 2025, due to complications from pneumonia.

The statement issued by her family clarified that Diane Keaton was loved not only in the artistic community but also among animal lovers and the society, inviting her family to honor her memory by donating to animal shelters or local food banks.

According to media reports, Keaton allocated a part of her fortune, approximately 5 million dollars, to her favorite dog "Reggie", to ensure he receives full care for the rest of his life, while another part will be allocated to support animal-related charities.

A source close to the actress reported that "Reggie" was the center of her life, and she considered his love and companionship to be among her most important concerns alongside her children and architecture, and her colleagues artists.

Diane Keaton had experienced a brief period of sudden health deterioration before her death, according to those close to her, and her close friends were not fully aware of her condition.

The Cause of Diane Keaton's Death

On the other hand, Diane Keaton's family announced that her death was due to pneumonia, at the age of 79, after an artistic career that lasted for more than half a century.

Her family confirmed in an official statement that her health had deteriorated suddenly in the last few months, while she was surrounded by her family in her last days, preferring those close to her to keep the details of her condition away from the spotlight to protect her privacy.

Her friend, writer Carol Bayer Sager revealed that Keaton had lost a lot of weight a few weeks before her death, confirming that she appeared unusually weak during their last meeting, and other friends reported that she maintained her sense of humor until her final days, and lived her life according to her own convictions surrounded by a close circle of loved ones.

Keaton's artistic career spanned from Broadway to Hollywood, where she shone in films like "The Godfather" and "Annie Hall", winning the Oscar for her role in the latter. She also left an artistic mark as a director and author, and on a humanitarian level, she left behind her daughter "Dexter" and her adopted son "Duke" whom she adopted in her fifties.
