Meta Launches Monitoring Tools for AI Conversations

Khaberni - Meta adds parental controls for children’s interactions with chatbots powered by artificial intelligence, including the ability to completely turn off individual chats with artificial intelligence personalities, starting early next year.

However, parents will not be able to turn off Meta's artificial intelligence assistant, which the company says will "remain available to provide useful information and educational opportunities, while providing appropriate virtual protection for the age to help maintain the safety of teenagers."
Parents who do not want to turn off all conversations with all artificial intelligence characters will be able to block specific chatbots powered by artificial intelligence.
Meta reported today, Friday, that parents will be able to get "insights" about what their children are talking about with artificial intelligence characters, although they will not be able to access the full chats.

These changes come as Meta, the social media giant, faces ongoing criticism about the harm its platforms do to children and as its chatbots powered by artificial intelligence are scrutinized over their interactions with children, and lawsuits claim they have pushed some to suicide.
