Khaberni - The Occupation commented on Thursday on the announcement by the Yemeni Houthi group of the killing of their General Staff Chief Mohammed Abdul Karim Al-Ghamari.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated in a post on "X" that the Houthi group "has now announced that the Chief of Staff of the Houthis, who was hit by a strong initial strike that failed most of their leaders in Yemen, has passed away from his wounds, thus joining his defeated comrades in the axis of evil in the depths of hell."
Katz continued: "I visited the headquarters of the Houthi military intelligence (in the Israeli army) and thanked the head of military intelligence, Shlomi Binder, and the rest of the personnel for the excellent work they have done, and will continue to do against the Houthis in the future."
The Minister added: "We have worked hard against the Houthis to remove severe threats, and we will do so against any threat in the future as well."
The Houthi group announced on Thursday the killing of Al-Ghamari, and their statement indicated that "the rounds of conflict with the enemy have not ended, and the Zionist enemy will receive its deterrent punishment for the crimes it committed", in a reference to the accusation of Israel killing him.
In June last year, the American news site "Axios" reported that Israel tried to eliminate Al-Ghamari by bombing a meeting of the Supreme Military Council of the Houthis in Sanaa.
The site quoted a senior Israeli official saying that "Israel tried to eliminate the Chief of Staff of the Houthis in an attack in Yemen".
Yemeni sources indicated that the target of the Israeli raid at that time, which targeted a meeting of the Supreme Military Council of the Houthis in Sanaa, was Al-Ghamari.
