Drone Attack on Residential Area in Central Baghdad

Khaberni - A drone attack occurred on Saturday morning, on a residential neighborhood in central Baghdad, as reported by a security source, coinciding with the fourth week of the Iran war.

The official said, "The first drone, a reconnaissance drone, fell at the Hunting Club", a prestigious social club located in the Mansour area in the center of the Iraqi capital, while "the second drone carried out the attack on a telecommunications building" of an Iraqi security institution.

The Iran war entered its 22nd day, having erupted on February 28, 2026, after the United States and Israel launched widespread airstrikes in operations "Epic Fury" and "Lion's Roar", targeting vital, military installations and command centers in Tehran and several other cities, resulting in the death of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day, along with a number of senior officials and leaders, including the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, and prominent leaders in the Revolutionary Guards.

In response, Iran launched "Operation Sadiq's Promise 4", by firing hundreds of missiles and drones towards Israel and countries in the region, along with closing the Strait of Hormuz, causing a spike in energy prices.

The war extended to Lebanon on March 2, after Hezbollah launched rockets at the Israeli occupation in response to the assassination of Ali Khamenei, to which Israel retaliated by launching extensive airstrikes and making a ground incursion into the south.
