Khaberni - Al-Ramtha Club sent a letter to the Ministry of Youth and the Football Association, expressing its objection to the closure of the Al-Hassan International Stadium in Irbid, due to maintenance scheduled for 3 months.
The club also explained that the conditions of the pitches at Amman International Stadium, Petra, and Prince Mohammed are in worse state than that of Al-Hassan Stadium, and that these should be prioritized for maintenance rather than closing the only stadium available for the northern clubs in the professional league.
Al-Ramtha explained that relocating the team's matches away from its home stadium impacts the financial revenues of the club. It also raises questions about who would compensate the club for the expected financial losses, aside from the fact that relocating matches affects the fairness of the competition and disrupts the principle of equal opportunities.
The club has requested a specific deadline for the completion of the turf works at Al-Hassan Stadium, advising against leaving the duration unspecified. It also proposed postponing the turf installation until the end of the current season, while asking the federation to delay its matches against the teams of Shabab Al-Ordon, Al-Hussein Irbid, Al-Ahli, and Al-Salt until after the turf work period, and to schedule the away matches against Al-Faisaly, Al-Baqa'a, and Al-Jazeera in the meantime.
It is worth mentioning that Al-Ramtha team is leading the professional league with 22 points after 8 rounds.
