The King Affirms Jordans Keenness to Enhance Cooperation with Italy across Various Sectors

Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II and Italian President Sergio Mattarella held a meeting in Rome on Tuesday to discuss the robust bilateral relations and developments in the region.

His Majesty emphasized his keenness to enhance the friendship between Jordan and Italy and to expand cooperation, particularly in the tourism, commercial, investment, cultural, military, and counter-terrorism sectors.

Concerning the situation in the Middle East, the leaders stressed the necessity of ensuring the implementation of the war termination agreement in Gaza at all stages, and the delivery of relief and medical aid throughout the sector.

The leaders, in the presence of His Highness Prince Ghazi bin Mohammed, the King's chief advisor for religious and cultural affairs and his personal envoy, reaffirmed their support for the two-state solution and calming measures in the West Bank, and the necessity of halting settlement activities.

In turn, the Italian President appreciated the humanitarian role of the Kingdom in Gaza by facilitating the entry of food and medicine, and efforts in providing treatment in Jordan for injured children from the sector.

Attending the meeting were the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, the Director of the King's Office, Alaa Batayneh, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Italy, Qais Abu Dayyeh.
