Royal Jordanian increases the number of Airbus A320neo planes in its fleet to 12 new aircraft

Khaberni - Royal Jordanian Airlines continues to implement its strategic plan to completely update its fleet and enhance its position in the air transport industry, where the company recently introduced a new Airbus A320neo aircraft, bringing the number of new aircraft of this model to a total of 12, in addition to 7 new Embraer E2 aircraft.

Additionally, the Royal Jordanian fleet is known for its modernity and advanced technologies as most of its aircraft are less than a year old. By the end of this year, 70% of the fleet will be renewed, especially with the introduction of two new Airbus A321 aircraft, making it one of the most modern fleets in the region. This reflects the national carrier's commitment to continuously keep up with the latest developments in the aviation world and to provide high-quality services to passengers across various destinations.

Royal Jordanian has designated two Airbus A320neo aircraft equipped with the "Premium Economy Class" service, each containing 180 economy class seats. This class serves as a mid-option between the economy and Crown business classes. The introduction of aircraft fully equipped with economy seats supports vital destinations on the network and attracts more tourists to Jordan. This year, Royal Jordanian also introduced two new Embraer E2 aircraft to serve short-haul routes, bringing the total number of Embraer aircraft in the fleet to seven.

As for the Boeing 787-8 fleet currently in operation, numbering 7 aircraft, Royal Jordanian is undergoing a comprehensive renewal process that includes installing communication systems to provide internet services (Wi-Fi) enabling passengers to enjoy continuous internet connectivity during flights, and refurbishing the aircraft cabins in line with the high standards adopted by Royal Jordanian. The renovation also includes repainting all aircraft with the new Livery to harmonize their appearance with the entire fleet of Airbus A320neo and Embraer E2 aircraft.

The first updated Boeing 787-8 aircraft will join at the end of this October. These improvements to the Boeing fleet aim to provide additional value to passengers, with increased revenue through enhanced service levels and improved passenger satisfaction. Royal Jordanian will introduce the first new 787-9 aircraft as part of the long-haul fleet update plan at the beginning of 2026.

Royal Jordanian gives significant importance to the air cargo sector with the aim of enhancing Jordan's position as a main hub for logistics and shipping activities in the region, especially with the development of the cargo operations center at Queen Alia International Airport. The company's fleet includes a new medium-range A321PF cargo aircraft, in addition to the cargo capacity on passenger aircraft.

The Vice Chairman/CEO of Royal Jordanian, Engineer Samer Al-Majali, stated that the introduction of new aircraft supports the company's strategy to boost tourism, serving several vital destinations. This supports Royal Jordanian's efforts to promote Jordan as a preferred destination, while continuing to enhance Amman's position as a leading regional transit hub and enhancing Royal Jordanian's status as the preferred choice for passengers wanting to connect between the Levant and major cities in the Middle East and Europe, indicating that the aircraft fleet will grow to about 40 aircraft in the coming years.

Al-Majali confirmed that Royal Jordanian is working on adding new stations to the network to strengthen its operational hub in Amman, making it a major hub in the region, as Royal Jordanian serves 55 direct stations, aligning with the fleet update.
