Khaberni - An American father killed his 13-year-old son after the latter discovered strange pictures of his father and his engaging in bad behavior.
The incident occurred in Colorado, where the court forced the child to visit his father during the Thanksgiving holiday, despite his severe reluctance, according to court documents, as reported by "Irish Star".
The investigations indicated that the son, Dylan Redwine, and his older brother, Cory, saw the pictures that caused them severe psychological shock, which led Dylan to confront his father about these pictures before the crime occurred.
The report confirmed that a disagreement ensued between them, ending with Mark, the child's father, killing and beheading him and then throwing the body in the wild for animals to consume.
Surveillance recordings showed minimal interaction between Dylan and his father during their trip to a local store, while Cory confirmed that Dylan had planned to stay at a friend's house overnight, but his father refused, leading to their return home.
The investigators discovered traces of the child's blood in the living room, and a trained dog revealed the recent presence of the body in the home and in the father's truck.
Later, the first remains of Dylan were found eight miles from home, and three years after the crime, the skull was discovered an additional mile and a half away. Forensic experts confirmed that death was due to fatal stabbings and that animals were unable to transport the skull that distance.
Mark Redwine was convicted of second-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death in 2017, receiving a maximum sentence of 48 years in prison in October 2021, the maximum penalty stipulated by law.
The judge described the father as a "tyrant" after reviewing the evidence, affirming that the defendant showed no remorse for his actions, and that the crime was committed in cold blood against his 13-year-old son.
