Real estate sector revives Large apartment sales up 8 in Jordan

Khaberni - The total number of apartments sold in the Kingdom during the first nine months of this year reached 27,508 apartments, an increase of 2.1% compared to the same period last year, which recorded the sale of 26,940 apartments, according to the monthly report of the Department of Lands and Survey.

According to the data, the total number of apartments sold in September last was 3,384 apartments, compared to 3,277 apartments in the same month of the previous year, an increase of 3.27%, and a decrease of 7.97% compared to August, which recorded 3,677 apartments.

According to the report, the number of sold apartments with an area over 150 square meters increased by 8% during the first nine months of the current year to reach 12,407 apartments, compared to the same period of 2024, which saw 11,518 apartments.

In September last, the number of sold apartments with an area over 150 square meters also increased by 13%, reaching 1,496 apartments, compared to the same month of 2024, which saw 1,320 apartments.

Also, the number of sold apartments with an area less than 120 square meters increased by 3% during the first nine months of the year, reaching 8,351 apartments, compared to the same period last year, which saw 8,143 apartments.

Last month, the number of sold apartments with an area less than 120 square meters increased by 10%, reaching 1,161 apartments, compared to the same month of 2024, which saw 1,056 apartments.

However, the apartments with an area between 120 and 150 square meters saw a 3% decrease in sales, reaching 7,082 apartments, compared with 7,279 apartments sold in the first nine months of 2024, according to the report.

The percentage of decrease in sales of apartments with an area between 120 and 150 square meters was 2% in September last, amounting to 885 apartments, compared with 901 apartments sold in the same period of 2024, according to the report.

The Council of Ministers had issued a decision on November 12, 2024, exempting residential apartments with an area of more than 150 square meters from 50% of the registration fees, in addition to the previous decision to exempt apartments with an area less than 150 square meters from 100% of the registration fees.
