Khaberni - Khalil Al-Hajj Tawfiq, President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, stated that Jordanian-Syrian relations are experiencing an advanced stage of cooperation and integration, affirming that what unites the two nations goes beyond economic frameworks to deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties.
Al-Hajj Tawfiq added in a post on his Facebook page that meetings with his Syrian counterparts, including the heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Damascus and Daraa, reflected the mutual love and great appreciation that the Syrian people have for Jordan, both its leadership and people.
He mentioned that the message conveyed by the Jordanian delegation was clear, that the relationship is based on integration, not competition, and standing with Syria in its efforts to recover its economy, and working together to build a new stage that serves the interests of both peoples.
He noted that the Syrian side expressed high appreciation for Jordan's stances, confirming their sincere desire to expand cooperation, stemming from a shared belief that the destiny is one and that the rapprochement between the two countries represents a strategic interest for both sides.
Al-Hajj Tawfiq explained that the upcoming phase will involve working on vital files, including creating job opportunities for the youth, enhancing food security, supporting the digital transformation, developing the banking sector, as well as contributing to reconstruction efforts, thereby achieving sustainable development for both countries.
He confirmed that the work will continue with sincere intentions and a team spirit, following the directions of His Majesty the King, thereby enhancing economic integration opportunities and opening new horizons for the private sector in Jordan and Syria.
