Khaberni - The new ultra-thin iPhone Air from Apple has not yet been available in China, which is one of Apple's biggest markets, but it seems that the phone will soon reach China.
When Apple unveiled the iPhone Air in September, it said it would be available for pre-order on Friday, September 12, as part of a broad global launch. However, the company was later forced to change its plans.
Due to regulatory issues related to the design of the device, which supports only an "eSIM" electronic chip without a slot for a physical telecommunications chip, the launch of the iPhone Air in China has been indefinitely postponed.
Now, according to a post by Apple CEO Tim Cook on the Chinese platform "Weibo," Apple is almost ready to launch the phone in China, as reported by the technology news site "9TO5Mac," which was consulted by "Al Arabiya Business".
Pre-orders for the iPhone Air for users in mainland China will start on Friday, October 17, at 9:00 AM local time.
Shipping of the iPhone Air devices to users in China is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 22.
It is still unclear how the Chinese market will react to a phone that only supports an "eSIM" chip. Traditional "SIM" cards are more common there compared to many other regions of the world.
