Khaberni - The Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan announced today, Sunday, the results of a poll conducted a year after the formation of Dr. Jaafar Hassan's government and some current issues.
The survey revealed that 70% of Jordanians, both the national sample and the sample of opinion leaders, trust the current government of Dr. Jaafar Hassan, (including 23% who trust it greatly and 47% moderately), noting that 85% of the sample of opinion leaders surveyed reported that they follow what the government has done and is doing, while 49% of the national sample also reported following it.
The survey also showed a general increase in the percentage of those who believe that the government was able to bear its responsibilities in general to 61% compared to 54% in the formation survey and 51% in the 100-day survey, while the percentage was 65% in the 200-day survey.
Regarding the Prime Minister's ability to bear the responsibilities of the stage, the survey also showed a general increase, as 67% of the national sample believe that Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan was able to bear the responsibilities of the stage during the first year of his government, compared with 57% who believed this in the formation survey, and 55% in the 100-day survey, while the percentage of those who believed this in the 200-day survey was 71%.
Likewise, 67% of the sample of opinion leaders also believe that Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan was able to bear the responsibilities of the stage during the first year of his government, compared with 55% who believed this in the formation survey.
As for the ministerial team (excluding the Prime Minister), the percentage of those who see that it is able to bear its responsibilities increased to 58% within a year of forming the government, compared with 50% in the formation survey, and 47% in the 100-day survey, while the percentage was 60% in the 200-day survey.
The survey also showed an increase in the percentage of Jordanians who believe that things are moving in a positive direction to 57% compared with 47% who believed that in the 100-day survey, and 55% in the formation survey, while the percentage of those who see that things are moving in the wrong direction decreased to 35% compared with 51% in the 100-day survey and 40% in the formation survey.
Regarding the field visits made by the Prime Minister, the survey reported that 65% of the national sample and 64% of the sample of opinion leaders are satisfied with them, and that 43% of Jordanians believe that these visits have a positive impact on the provinces.
The survey also reported that 73% of the national sample and 60% of the sample of opinion leaders believe that the government is doing everything it can to provide citizens with all services.
Regarding the Jordanians' confidence in implementing plans according to the comprehensive modernization project with its economic, political, and administrative axes, the survey revealed that 56% of the sample of opinion leaders and 44% of the national sample are optimistic about the government's ability to implement the economic modernization vision, and that 61% of the sample of opinion leaders and 46% of the national sample are optimistic about the public sector modernization plan, while reporting that 60% of the sample of opinion leaders and 48% of the national sample are optimistic about the government's ability to complete and enhance political reforms.
The survey also showed an increase in the percentage of Jordanians optimistic about the improvement of their economic conditions by 12 points compared to the survey conducted at the beginning of this year 100 days after the government, which showed that 48% of Jordanians are optimistic that their economic conditions will be better over the next twelve months, compared with 20% who see otherwise, and 28% who see that their conditions will remain as they are now.
Regarding the future of municipal councils and governorate councils, the survey revealed that 55% of the national sample and 50% of the sample of opinion leaders support the proposal to appoint mayors instead of electing them compared with 38% of the national sample and 48% of the sample of opinion leaders who do not support this.
Also, 51% of the national sample and 50% of the sample of opinion leaders support the proposal to keep the governorate councils (decentralization), while 43% of the national sample members confirm their participation in the upcoming municipal and governorate councils elections.
Regarding the latest government decisions, the survey reported that 95% of Jordanians support the reinstatement of military service and believe that it will contribute to reinforcing the concept of national affiliation and promoting a culture of discipline and commitment, and that 76% of Jordanians are satisfied with the instructions for installing a flagpole for the Jordanian flag in front of homes and buildings compared with 11% who are dissatisfied with it, while two-thirds of Jordanians (66%) said they had not heard about the government's decision to insure 4.1 million citizens at the King Hussein Cancer Center starting from next year, through the agreement signed by the government with the Hussein Cancer Foundation.
According to the survey, 56% of the national sample and 37% of the sample of opinion leaders support the ministerial amendment conducted on the government.
Regarding regional conditions, the survey revealed that 61% of the sample of opinion leaders and 52% of the national sample are optimistic about the government's ability to manage regional files, and that 87% of Jordanians are satisfied with the position of the Jordanian state towards the war on Gaza, while 71% of Jordanians believe that the war on Gaza contributed to strengthening relations between Jordan and Palestine, while nearly 90% of Jordanians rate Jordanian-Syrian relations as very good or good.
