Minister of Investment Discusses Cooperation Opportunities with Head of Syrian Investment Authority

Khaberni - The Investment Minister Tareq Abu Ghazaleh welcomed at the ministry's headquarters on Sunday, the President of the Syrian Investment Authority Talal Hilali, along with his accompanying delegation, where they explored opportunities for cooperation and strengthening partnerships with the private sector in both countries.

Abu Ghazaleh referred to the deep brotherly relations that exist between Jordan and Syria, which were emphasized by His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein through his wise directives that stressed the need to provide various forms of support to the brethren in Syria, especially in the areas of capacity building, exchanging successful experiences and best practices.

Abu Ghazaleh affirmed the Jordanian government's keenness to expand areas of joint cooperation and enhance economic and investment partnerships with the Syrian Investment Authority, which would serve the mutual interests of the two brotherly peoples and support efforts for sustainable development and economic integration.

Abu Ghazaleh invited the private sector in both brotherly countries to take advantage of the opportunities available in consolidating trade and industrial economic integration, and building shared value chains that support sustainable growth and create added value for both economies.

For his part, Hilali emphasized the importance of enhancing economic and investment cooperation with Jordan, and benefiting from the Jordanian experience in developing the investment environment, noting the importance of expanding areas of partnership and exchanging expertise between the two sides, which contributes to supporting reconstruction efforts and achieving sustainable development, and serving the shared interests of the two brotherly countries.

The meeting, which was attended by the Chargé d'affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Jordan Ihsan Al Roman, included an extensive meeting with the participation of the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Investment, the Director of Economic Affairs and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, the General Manager of the Banks Association in Jordan, and the President of the Jordanian Businessmen Association, where they discussed opportunities for cooperation and enhancing partnerships with the private sector in the two brotherly countries.

The specialized directors in the Ministry of Investment also presented a briefing on the main work plans and tasks implemented by the ministry, and the services provided to investors, which contribute to facilitating procedures for them and enabling them to benefit from the incentives and exemptions granted according to regulatory legislation.
