Khaberni - Social media users circulated a video that sparked widespread controversy, showing a man and a woman assaulting a worker inside a mobile phone shop in Monufia Governorate, attempting to rob him before fleeing without completing the crime.
The video, captured by surveillance cameras, shows a man accompanied by a woman entering the shop and violently assaulting the worker in a shocking scene that generated wide interaction among platform users.
According to the Ministry of Interior's statement, it was initially not reported by the victim since the suspects failed to complete the robbery after he managed to resist them. Furthermore, the location of the incident was determined and his statements were recorded.
After legalizing the procedures, the security forces succeeded in identifying and arresting the suspects, who turned out to be an unemployed man and a woman from Monufia Governorate.
Upon confronting them, they detailedly confessed to committing the crime as appeared in the circulated video.
The security forces took the necessary legal measures concerning the incident, preparing to present the suspects to the public prosecution to initiate the investigations.
