Khaberni - Indian media outlets reported, citing authorities on Tuesday evening, that a massive landslide occurred in the northern part of the country, leading to the burial of a passenger bus and the death of 18 people.
The incident occurred on a road in the Bilaspur area of Himachal Pradesh, in the north of the country. By late evening, rescue teams had managed to save three passengers.
However, it is still believed that many passengers remain trapped under debris and rocks, according to the Indian channel "NDTV" and other media outlets.
It is believed that the bus was carrying between 30 to 35 people, but the exact number of passengers was not immediately confirmed. It is suspected that the landslide was caused by prolonged heavy rainfall, which caused an entire side of the mountain to move.
