Khaberni - The Egyptian police referred the festival singer Issam Sasa, a nightclub owner, and others to the prosecution, after a violent brawl broke out inside a nightclub in Maadi.
Dar Al-Salam police station in Cairo completed its investigation into the incident of the brawl that occurred between festival singer Issam Sasa and several of his companions on one hand, and the security staff of a nightclub in the Maadi area, on the other, where all parties were interrogated and are now being presented to the Dar Al-Salam prosecution for further investigation.
Lawyers Mostafa Tawfiq and Hussam Youssef, representing "Sasa", stated that the police have listened to their client's and the other defendants' statements, while the police department kept the investigation report reserved until it is presented to the competent authorities.
They added that the security forces are reviewing surveillance cameras that have been seized to extract their data fully and understand the circumstances of the incident.
According to preliminary investigations, the brawl began inside the nightclub as Issam Sasa was preparing to perform a singing segment with some friends, before a verbal altercation erupted between him and the security staff belonging to the owner of the nightclub, which quickly escalated into physical clashes extending outside the venue, causing chaos in front of the Corniche.
The investigations clarified that Sasa tried to leave the venue in his car after the confrontation intensified, but someone chased him on a motorcycle and threw it in front of his car, leading to a collision and the deployment of the airbags inside the vehicle.
According to eyewitnesses, Sasa got out of the car and fled on foot before catching another car and leaving the scene.
The security forces continue their investigations to uncover all the circumstances of the incident and determine the legal responsibilities of both parties, in preparation for presenting the results to the public prosecution, which will continue the investigations and take the necessary actions.
