Khaberni - Spanish player Jordi Alba announced this Tuesday evening his definitive retirement from playing at the end of the current season, which ends in the coming few weeks in the United States.

The 36-year-old left-back revealed his decision through a video posted on his official Instagram account.

Alba's announcement comes weeks after his former teammate Sergio Busquets announced his retirement, thus turning a new page in the careers of former Barcelona stars, as both currently play for Inter Miami in the United States.

Alba began his career at Valencia before moving to Barcelona, where he spent eleven years playing 460 matches, and won numerous titles, most notably: six La Liga titles, the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, and five Copa del Rey titles.

Alba also won the UEFA European Championship with the Spanish national team in 2012 and participated in 93 international matches wearing the "La Roja" jersey.

Since joining Inter Miami in 2023, Alba reunited with his former teammate Lionel Messi to form one of the most successful duos in football over the last decade.
