Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson discussed in Stockholm today, Tuesday, ways to deepen the strong friendship between the two countries.
His Majesty the King and the Swedish Prime Minister, during a bilateral meeting followed by an expanded one, discussed the importance of expanding cooperation between Jordan and Sweden in various fields, such as trade, investment, tourism, cybersecurity, counter-terrorism, and military cooperation.
The meeting addressed developments in the region, noting the alignment of views between the two countries on pivotal issues in the region, and their support for efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on a two-state solution, by creating a political horizon leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
His Majesty commended Sweden's support for humanitarian relief efforts in Gaza, emphasizing the need to resume support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) according to its UN mandate.
Speaking about efforts to end the war on Gaza, His Majesty emphasized the immediate need to stop firing and deliver sufficient aid, according to the proposal of American President Donald Trump.
His Majesty underscored the continuation of Jordan's coordination with brotherly and friendly nations to achieve stability in the region, highlighting the importance of Sweden's role in supporting peace efforts within the framework of the European Union.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, and the Director of His Majesty’s Office, Engineer Alaa Batayneh.
