Khaberni - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty confirmed on Tuesday that the US delegation, led by the Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Whitcov, will join the ongoing discussions about Gaza on Wednesday.
Abdel Aty said at a press conference with his German counterpart Johann Wadeful in Cairo: "Negotiations are ongoing in Sharm el-Sheikh between the Israeli delegation and the Hamas delegation with regional participation, and tomorrow the American side will join."
He mentioned that he and his German counterpart had a lengthy discussion with Whitcov "who plans to head to Egypt in the coming hours... and we talked about the importance of having a Security Council resolution to adopt the American plan and the importance of deploying international forces which would provide protection for the Palestinians and security for the Israeli side as well."
