Ceasefire Agreement in Two Districts of Aleppo

Khaberni - The official Syrian news agency "SANA" announced, at dawn on Tuesday, the reaching of a ceasefire agreement in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh districts in the city of Aleppo.

Violent clashes with heavy weapons erupted on Monday between the Syrian Army and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) around the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh districts in Aleppo, resulting in casualties among security forces and civilians.

The clashes led to the closure of roads leading to the mentioned districts, amidst movements to secure the exit of a number of families from the area.

The Media and Communication Administration of the Syrian Ministry of Defense stated that the army's movements are part of a plan to redeploy in northern and northeastern Syria, in response to "repeated attacks" by the SDF targeting civilians and army and security forces.

The ministry confirmed its commitment to the agreement of March 10th, denying any intention for military operations, and pointed out that the army is striving to protect the residents and their properties from SDF attacks.

A Syrian official source stated that 3 security forces were killed and others were injured in the shelling by the Syrian Democratic Forces on residential areas in Aleppo.
