Khaberni - Prime Minister Jafar Hassan confirmed on Monday during his meeting in Petra with the chairman and members of the Board of Commissioners of the Petra Region Authority for Tourism Development, the need to intensify efforts and diversify the tourism product and develop it to regain the city's tourism momentum.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the necessity of developing the tourism product to reflect the true image of Jordan and its people, and this is the most important.
He stressed the importance of working on connecting Petra and its tourist sites with the tourist routes in the neighboring areas such as the Shobak Castle and Dana Reserve; this reflects positively on local development and enhances national tourism.
Hassan emphasized the need to direct a part of the events and celebrations that carry a high promotional value to Petra, and to encourage tourism establishments to host them; for their role in attracting tourists, ensuring hotel occupancy, and achieving an important economic return.
The Prime Minister emphasized that adherence to the law and respect for it are fundamental and without it, no one will be able to work or benefit, and it is necessary to put a clear framework for work that everyone commits to; which benefits the local community in Petra and positively reflects on the tourism sector in general.
