Khaberni - An Egyptian bride ended her life just 40 days after her wedding, turning the joy of the small village that had celebrated her into a large mourning event after she threw herself into the waters of the Youssef Sea in Faiyum Governorate, leaving behind a touching farewell note and her wedding ring on her bed.
In the details, the village of Damaskeen witnessed a state of shock and deep sadness on Sunday morning, when the locals woke up to the news of discovering the body of a young woman floating on the surface of the Youssef Sea.
Immediately, police forces and the river rescue team moved to the report site, where they managed, after intensive efforts, to recover the body and transfer it to the morgue of Faiyum General Hospital, in preparation for starting the investigation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was 25 years old and had been married for only about 40 days.
The investigations revealed that her married life was not stable, as she suffered from daily recurring disputes with her husband, which led her into a state of severe sadness and depression during the last weeks.
According to the husband's statement in the police report, the bride left the house at dawn on Sunday without telling anyone, leaving a short note on the bed that read "Lord, forgive and have mercy on me", and beside it, her wedding ring.
In the same context, witnesses from the villagers reported that the bride seemed calm and did not show any signs of suicidal thoughts, but in the recent days, she appeared more isolated and silent.
Those close to her reported that she was trying to adapt to her new life, but she couldn't handle the psychological pressures stemming from the ongoing marital disputes.
The Public Prosecution ordered the legal doctor to autopsy the body and determine the cause of death, and also requested investigations by the detectives about the circumstances and details of the incident.
