Decline in Total Fertility Rate in Jordan

Khaberni - The statistical report issued by the Department of Civil Status and Passports, which was reviewed by Khaberni, shows a decline in the total fertility rate in Jordan over the past eight years, having decreased from 3.03 children per woman in 2016 to only 2.3 children in 2024.

Data indicates, according to Khaberni, that the decline included various age groups, with the 25-29 age group recording the highest fertility rates compared to other categories, followed by the 20-24 age group.

This decline, according to the report, reflects an ongoing demographic shift towards lower birth rates in the Jordanian society.
