Khaberni - Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan has officially joined the list of billionaires, with a fortune amounting to approximately 1.4 billion US dollars (equivalent to 1.03 billion British pounds) as of October 1st, according to the "Hurun India Rich List 2025".
Over 33 years of continuous work in the film industry, the wealth of the actor known as "King of Bollywood" has gradually grown, jumping from about 870 million dollars last year to surpassing one billion dollars this year, classifying him among the richest movie stars in the world.
"The Indian Express" reported that Shahrukh Khan's long artistic career has helped cement his status, though the major part of his wealth comes from his film production company "Red Chillies Entertainment", which has produced a number of the most successful box office films and digital works, in addition to its activities in visual content, visual effects, and film location rental.
Shahrukh Khan’s sources of wealth vary between cinema, sports, real estate, and advertising. He owns the major share in the "Kolkata Knight Riders" cricket team, participates in major advertising campaigns, and owns a wide range of luxury properties inside and outside India.
Among his most notable assets is his famous heritage palace in Mumbai, valued at about 24 million dollars, in addition to luxurious properties in New Delhi, Mumbai, London, and Beverly Hills in the United States. His car garage includes a collection of luxurious world-class models, including a Rolls Royce Phantom valued at 1.1 million dollars and a Bugatti Veyron valued at 1.4 million dollars, as well as a diverse fleet of luxury cars.
According to the "Hurun Rich List", Shahrukh Khan tops the list of the richest stars in India by a comfortable margin compared to his competitors in the entertainment industry. Actress Juhi Chawla ranks second with a fortune estimated with her family at about 935 million dollars, while actor Hrithik Roshan is in third place with a fortune reaching 259 million dollars thanks to his fitness and lifestyle brand.
The fourth rank went to director Karan Johar, with a fortune of nearly 225 million dollars based mainly on the success of his film company.
Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan ranked fifth on the "Hurun" list with a fortune estimated at about 195 million dollars, thanks to his long artistic career, commercial advertisements, and real estate investments.
In another context, the star Shahrukh Khan was forced last July to postpone filming his new movie "King" due to his travel to the United States for regular medical examinations. A source close to him refuted what some artistic sites had circulated about him sustaining a serious injury, explaining that it was related to accumulated strain, and doctors advised him to rest for a full month, which caused the postponement of filming.
Several locations had been booked to host scenes from the film, including "Film City", "Golden Tobacco", and "YRF Studios", but all reservations were canceled until further notice.
The last cinematic appearance of Shahrukh Khan was two years ago, specifically in 2023, through his successful film "Pathaan".
