Jordan welcomes Hamass response to the US Presidents proposal to end the war in Gaza

Khaberni - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed on Saturday the positive response of Hamas to U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal to end the war on the Gaza Strip, considering it an important step towards ending the war and its catastrophic consequences.

The ministry also welcomed President Trump's statements calling for an immediate ceasefire to allow the accomplishment of a prisoner exchange deal within the framework proposed by the U.S. President, which was agreed upon by Hamas, and which would end the shedding of Palestinian blood in Gaza.

The official spokesperson for the ministry, Fouad Al-Majali, stated that Jordan appreciates the principal role of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Qatar in the efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire agreement.

Al-Majali reiterated the welcome for the efforts of the U.S. President and his proposal about ending the war, the reconstruction of Gaza, preventing the displacement of the Palestinian people, and enhancing efforts to achieve comprehensive peace, in addition to his stance against the annexation of the West Bank.

He affirmed that Jordan sees its partnership with the United States as a fundamental pillar in efforts to end the conflict and achieve fair peace.

Al-Majali emphasized the necessity of an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the opening of crossings for the entry of sufficient, immediate, and sustainable humanitarian aid throughout the Strip, and the launch of a genuine effort to achieve fair peace based on the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

He also confirmed that Jordan is continuing to work with brothers, the United States, and international partners to stop the war and launch a true, impactful path towards achieving fair and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.

He also confirmed the Kingdom's readiness to resume the entry of aid to Gaza as soon as Israel removes restrictions on this, and to ensure that the aid reaches safely according to international law and humanitarian international law.
