Munich Airport suspends flights for the second time within 24 hours

Khaberni - Reuters news agency stated that Munich International Airport had suspended flights for the second time within the last 24 hours due to reports of an unidentified drone flying in the skies.

The agency quoted a pilot whose flight was canceled: "The airport's runways were closed again on Friday evening for the second time in less than 24 hours... and drones were spotted again."

The pilot also reported that police helicopters were flying in the air.

Reuters also mentioned that a spokesperson for the airport police confirmed the runway closure, but said the reason was still unclear.

On Thursday evening, the German air traffic control authority suspended flights at Munich Airport for several hours after detecting several drones of unknown origin.

Bild newspaper claimed that drones also flew over the "Innovation Center" of the German army located at Erding Airport, near the city.
