Khaberni - The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) said on Friday that mothers and newborns in Gaza are facing extremely difficult conditions amid a shortage of medical supplies and overcrowding at the Nasser compound in the south of the territory with displaced patients from the north.
UNICEF spokesman James Elder said in a press statement reported by the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa): "The situation of mothers and newborns in Gaza has never been worse than it is now. In the Nasser compound, we see hospital corridors crowded with women who have just given birth."
