The Prisoner's Club stated that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to detain thousands of Palestinian and Arab prisoners in their prisons, where the number of detainees reached more than 9500 by the beginning of March 2026, the majority of whom are detainees without "charges", including children and women.
The Prisoner's Club, in a press release on Thursday, stated that the occupation, since the genocide, continues to prevent the families of the detainees from visiting them, in addition to the fact that hundreds of the detainees have been deprived of participating in any familial occasions for decades, and their detention period has approached 40 years. Most of them have lost many family members without being able to bid them farewell.
It was noted that the policies of deprivation and isolation have expanded unprecedentedly following the genocide, and have further multiplied since the occupation announced the cessation of legal team visits during the ongoing war, where visits by lawyers represent the only window for the detainees to communicate with the outside world.
The Prisoner's Club clarified that during the month of Ramadan, the suppression forces carried out many systematic raids against the detainees as one of the systematic policies against them, noting that platforms associated with the occupation published one of these operations, led by the extremist minister "Ben Gvir", while the so-called "Prison Service" published a widespread suppression operation in "Negev" prison, alongside many suppression operations mentioned by detainees who were recently released.
Recently, "Ben Gvir" appeared in a recorded video standing in front of a guillotine prepared for the execution of Palestinian detainees.
The Prisoner's Club confirmed that Israeli prisons have turned into one of the arenas of genocide, where torture, starvation, and deprivation at varying levels and types, including assaults such as rape and systematic suppression operations, are practiced daily.
These crimes have led to the martyrdom of more than 100 prisoners, with 88 of their identities announced, while dozens of Gaza's martyred detainees are still held in enforced disappearance, with their bodies still detained.
It is worth noting that the occupation announced the renewal of the state of emergency in its prisons until next May, and under this renewal, the measures imposed on the detainees following the genocide war will remain, especially those related to not adhering to the designated space for them on grounds of "security reasons".
The Prisoner's Club reviewed the most prominent data on Palestinian and Arab detainees, as follows:
- The number of detainees in Israeli occupation prisons exceeded 9500 by the beginning of March 2026, including 79 female detainees to date.
- The number of child detainees reached 350 children, detained by the occupation in "Megiddo" and "Ofer" prisons.
- The number of administrative detainees reached 3442, the highest percentage compared to the sentenced detainees, detainees pending trial, and those classified as "unlawful combatants", with their percentage being about 36%.
- The number classified by the occupation as "unlawful combatants" reached 1249 detainees, noting that this number does not include all Gazan detainees held in military camps belonging to the occupation army and classified within this category.
It is worth noting that this classification also includes Arab detainees from Lebanon and Syria.
