Khaberni - The Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch said that the government is ready for dialogue and discussion from within institutions and is responding to social demands, following a wave of protests that affected several cities in Morocco over the past few days.
Speaking, Akhannouch said "We have followed the unfortunate developments in the past two days in several cities which resulted in the death of 3 people," adding that they witnessed a serious escalation affecting security and causing injuries to hundreds of security personnel.
The Moroccan Prime Minister said that the government confirms that "the approach based on dialogue is the only way to address issues in Morocco".
This comes at a time when the group known as "Generation Z 212" called for new "peaceful" demonstrations today, Thursday, demanding improvements in public services, after a night of violence that resulted in the death of two persons by security forces' gunfire.
On the call to demonstrate on "Discord", "Generation Z 212" emphasized "maintaining peace". The movement also reiterated its demands, most notably "education that is befitting for humans and without disparity" and "health for every citizen without exceptions".
Despite the security forces' intervention to prevent these protests under the pretense of not having permission, and the arrest of hundreds of participants in cities like Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakesh, Agadir, Oujda, and Tangier, the protests did not stop but extended to include other cities.
