AlMaaytah Justice is not built by force but by consensus and free choice

Khaberni - The head of the board of commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, Engineer Musa Al-Maaytah, emphasized that the integrity of the electoral process represents the core of the social contract and a mirror for the citizen's dignity, confirming that “justice is not built by force alone, but by consensus and free choice.”
Al-Maaytah stressed, during his speech at the regional meeting on digital transformation in election management that started today in Amman with the participation of experts and representatives from electoral and international institutions, that the electoral process is “the fundamental pillar of political legitimacy and a tool for consolidating the rule of law,” noting that elections are not merely an administrative procedure but a national path to consolidating democracy and building the future.
He explained that Jordan has made significant strides in developing its electoral system, emphasizing that “tampering or manipulation of elections is unacceptable and will not be allowed under any circumstances,” pointing out that the Jordanian experience has become a model that commands respect and attention at both the Arab and international levels.
He added that the Commission continuously works to update its tools and keep up with technological advancements, alongside benefiting from the best global practices in managing elections.
Al-Maaytah also pointed out the priority of empowering youth and women, saying: “Youth are the cornerstone of the present and the strength of the future, and investing in their empowerment and enhancing their political and civic participation is a national necessity,” noting that the Commission has prepared a practical guide that equips those working with youth with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their role efficiently.
In a related context, Al-Maaytah expressed his regret over the absence of the Palestinian delegation from the conference activities due to the prevention by the Israeli occupation forces of their attendance, considering it “a continuation of the Israeli arrogance series,” and confirming Jordan's full solidarity with the Palestinian people “in facing the killing and destruction machine they are subjected to.”
He added that democracy in Jordan is based on a national foundation, pointing out that the latest elections embodied this approach through the participation of all political forces and the integrated work of state institutions to succeed them.
For her part, the Director of Governance and Society group at the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Yasmin Saadoun, affirmed that digital transformation has become an effective tool for reshaping democracy, indicating that technology provides broader opportunities for empowering youth, women, and persons with disabilities in political participation.
She added that Jordan forms an important model in this area, pointing out that “success in this path is a shared responsibility, and working hand in hand ensures the sustainability of achievements.”
