Khaberni - The Turkish capital, Ankara, witnessed a tragic accident following a traffic dispute that quickly escalated into a violent confrontation between two drivers, ending with one person being injured by being run over, a scene captured by camera lenses.
The incident began with an exchange of angry words between two drivers on one of the busy roads in Ankara, before escalating into a fight involving a number of the relatives of both parties.
As tensions escalated, some of the onlookers threw stones at one of the cars, increasing the chaos of the situation and provoking the anger of the drivers.
While trying to leave the scene to avoid assault, one of the drivers pressed the gas pedal fiercely, injuring a person standing in front of the vehicle, knocking him down amid the screams of the crowd.
The recorded footage showed that after the incident, the driver calmly stepped out of his car and stood watching what was happening without trying to flee.
A passerby fully documented the accident with his mobile phone, where the recordings showed the escalation of the dispute, then the hit-and-run scene and the ensuing confusion, in clips that quickly spread across social media platforms, causing widespread anger and calls for accountability of those involved.
Local media reported that the police started an urgent investigation to precisely determine responsibilities and interrogate the parties involved in the accident, while the injured was taken to the hospital for treatment.
