Why does Google prevent AI from answering questions about Trumps mental health

Khaberni - Google has banned the display of AI-enhanced search results when questions are asked regarding the mental health of US President Donald Trump, while it still shows similar results for searches about former presidents, according to a report published by "The Verge".

This is evident when the search engine is asked "Does Trump suffer from dementia?" Instead of displaying an AI response in the usual search engine mode or in AI mode, the engine displays 10 links related to the topic.

The message that appears indicates that the AI mode is not available for this question, and this occurs with all question formats related to Trump's mental health such as Alzheimer's, dementia, and other mental illnesses.

However, the situation is different when searching for the mental health of former President Joe Biden in AI mode; it displays a brief answer although it is not definitive. The answer begins by pointing out that it is not possible to determine the health status of former President Joe Biden based on news and publicly available information, and sometimes the answer comes without an official diagnosis or laboratory evidence of Biden having Alzheimer's.

The results are completely different in the case of using AI for former US presidents like Obama. The AI features clearly work and display a more definitive answer, beginning with a lack of general evidence and statements from experts that indicate Obama suffers from mental illnesses.

The Verge report points out the extensive media coverage of the mental state of Trump and Biden as they are some of the oldest US presidents, thereby possibly causing the company concern about providing accurate information on a sensitive topic, especially since AI sometimes presents misleading information.

The report also suggests that the recent settlement by "Alphabet" between "YouTube" and Trump for 24.5 million dollars might contribute to making matters sensitive between the company and the current US president.

For its part, Google has not provided a direct reason for this action, and Davis Thompson, a company spokesperson, simply referred to the documents related to the AI mode in the search engine, clearly stating that it may not work with all questions and searches.
