Khaberni - The General Institution for Food and Drug has started its intensive monitoring and awareness campaigns as part of the preparations for the olive oil season this year.

The institution confirmed that these measures include field visits to ensure compliance with the implemented health instructions and conditions in support of this strategic sector, which holds significant economic and social importance.

The institution added that its campaigns support this traditional national product, which is now exported to many countries around the world and enjoys an outstanding reputation in regional and global export markets, due to its quality and adherence to the highest standards and specifications.

It indicated that it has issued a circular to relevant parties that includes instructions to permanently affix an information label on all oil packages, in various sizes, brands, and types of packaging materials used, including metal tin containers, requiring that the label contains detailed information including: type of oil, package capacity, name of the press, its address, country of origin, and production season for the year 2025/2026.

The institution has also launched the campaign "Check your oil before it enters your home" across the kingdom through its branches, which includes conducting a preliminary and quick test for free.

Alongside its monitoring efforts, the institution focuses on the educational and advisory aspect regarding buying olive oil and the best practices related to it through various initiatives, awareness campaigns, and bulletins.
