Khaberni - Italy and Bahrain announced in a joint statement on Monday the signing of a memorandum of understanding aimed at boosting investments and trade worth more than one billion euros (1.2 billion dollars).
The statement mentioned that the memorandum was announced following a meeting in Rome between Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, and the Crown Prince of Bahrain, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The statement said the memorandum "will enhance economic relations and increase trade and investments... with a commitment to partnerships involving investments exceeding one billion euros", as the two parties agreed to strengthen relations in sectors including energy and defense.
The two countries called for an end to the war in Gaza and the release of all Israeli hostages still held by Hamas, denouncing "any unilateral or violent act in the West Bank".
The statement added: "The two sides called for the provision of full and safe humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza," and reaffirmed their support for a two-state solution between Israelis and Palestinians.
