Khaberni - The Iraqi Minister of Electricity, Engineer Ziad Ali Fadel, received today the Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh and his accompanying delegation, and they discussed enhancing cooperation in the electricity and renewable energy sectors.
They discussed the developments in the Iraqi-Jordanian-Egyptian tripartite electrical linkage project.
The Iraqi minister indicated that there are plans to increase the capacity of the linkage line towards the Al-Qaim border crossing soon, to support the stability of the electrical system in western Iraq.
He explained that he listened to the Jordanian side's presentation on involving Jordanian companies in renewable energy projects within Iraq, adding that he welcomed the expansion of cooperation with Jordan, and we confirmed that the ministry provides transparent and competitive investment opportunities in renewable energy projects for all investors.
